South Africa levels the T20I series against India

South Africa won the match against India by 9 wickets with 19 balls remaining.

India scored 134 runs at the cost of 9 wickets while batting first against South Africa. South Africa achieved the target of 135 runs in just 16.5 overs with 9 wickets still in hand. South Africa leveled the T20I series against India by winning this match.

South Africa levels the T20I series against India

 

India’s innings against South Africa:

India won the toss and elected to bat first against South Africa in the 3rd and final T20I of South Africa’s tour of India 2019/20.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma came to bat first for India against South Africa. Rohit Sharma lost his wicket to Beuran Hendricks on just 9 runs in the 3rd over of the match. India’s Captain Virat Kohli, who is one of the greatest batsmen of the world and played a match-winning innings of 72 runs off 52 balls in the previous T20I, could only score 9 runs on 15 balls against South Africa’s bowling attack.

Shikhar Dhawan remained top-scorer for India with his 36 runs of 25 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes before he was dismissed by Tabraiz Shamsi of South Africa in the 8th over of the match.

India had lost 4 wickets at 90 runs by the 13th over against South Africa. India’s batting lineup started to collapse right there but India’s Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja pushed India towards a total of 134/9 with their efforts.

Hardik Pandya scored 14 runs off 18 balls while Ravindra Jadeja scored 19 runs off 17 balls with the help of a four and a six against South Africa bowling.

Kagiso Rabada took 3 wickets for South Africa at the cost of 39 runs in his 4 overs. Bjorn Fortuin and Beuran Hendricks took 2 wickets each for South Africa while Tabraiz Shamsi took 1 wicket by conceding 23 runs against India.

South Africa’s innings against India:

South Africa started out their inning with a blast. Reeza Hendricks and Sout Africa’s captain and wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock came to bat for South Africa against India.

South Africa had already reached the score of 76 runs when Reeza Hendricks lost his wicket to Hardik Pandya in the first ball of the 11th over of the innings. South Africa’s captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock along with Temba Bavuma achieved the target easily in just 16.5 overs against India.

Quinton de Kock played took no mercy upon India’s bowling attack by playing an amazing innings of 79 runs on 52 balls by hitting 6 fours and 5 huge sixes all over the ground and remained not out to the end. Quinton de Kock’s brilliant innings brought South Africa a 9 wicket win against India and leveled the T20I series with 1-1.

“Player of the Match” was awarded to Beuran Hendricks of South Africa for his brilliant contributions with the ball to limit India’s score to 134/9. South Africa’s captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock was awarded “Player of the Series” for his incredible performance with the bat. Quinton de Kock scored 52 runs off 37 balls in the 2nd T20I and scored 79 runs off 52 balls in the 3rd T20I of South Africa’s tour of India 2019-20.

The 1st T20I of the series was abandoned due to rain and the 2nd T20I was won by India by 7 wickets with 6 balls remaining. South Africa leveled the 3-match T20I series of South Africa’s tour of India 2019-20 by winning the 3rd T20I.
