India’s vice-captain, Rohit Sharma was latterly reported as ‘unfit’ after Mumbai Indians, Rohit-leading Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) franchise endured the encounter against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Following his fitness, he was dropped from the squad later on but in today’s encounter, qualifier 1 going on between the MI and the Delhi Capitals (DC), he is once again the part.

After he was dismissed from the squads that the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) recently has revealed for India tour of Australia 2020-21, there was a heavy criticism that he had to face as despite being out of India’s squad amidst health concerns, he is leading his IPL franchise declared as ‘fit’.

The cricketing fraternity is in huge shock and busy posting on Twitter. The former cricket has also joined the forces questioning over the scenario.

“It’s intriguing that Rohit Sharma, the most accomplished batsman of Team India, who was only a few days ago declared unfit to tour Australia by the Indian team’s physio (Nitin Patel) and hence not selected for the trip, is playing and leading MI in the IPL,” Vengsarkar was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

“Now, the question here is, is the IPL more important to him than playing for India? Is the club more important than playing for the nation for him? Will the BCCI take a call on this? Or is it that the BCCI physio faltered in diagnosing Rohit’s injury correctly,” he said.

However, today’s win or defeat will decide the fate of MI whether they will be directed to the final or will be going to the qualifier 2 having another chance to prove themselves before heading towards the last encounter.
