The T20 league of Sri Lanka, the Lanka Premier League (LPL), has auctioned twenty-four Pakistani players. With a total of 150 overseas players, the league is rescheduled for November 14 to last till December 6.

Shahid Afridi. who has been auctioned for $60,000 base price, will be playing for Galle Gladiators, who is directly linked up with PSL’s Quetta Gladiators. Shoaib Malik, the veteran player, has been bought for $50,000 whereas Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Hafeez, and Wahab Riaz are auctioned for $40,000.

 Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Kamran Akmal, Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Irfan, Yasir Shah, Imam-ul-Haq, Haris Sohail, Mohammad Sami, Umar Gul, Mohammad Abbas, Sohail Tanvir, Junaid Khan, Imad Wasim, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Asif Ali, Iftekhar Ahmed, and Ruman Raees.

Sri Lanka initiated the LPL in 2018 but the league was called off and was postponed to next year. Unfortunately, 2019 could not hold LPL and as expected, the first edition of the LPL is supposed to be played soon
Sri Lanka has earlier hold the T20 league that goes no popularity. The league was called SPL (the Sri Lanka Premier League). The first edition was all set to be commenced by 2011 but it got shifted to 2012. However, later tournaments were also cancelled. When played, many Pakistani players were also invited to join SPL.
The five franchises will be representing five countries of Sri Lanka; Colombo, Kandy, Jaffna, Galle, and Dambulla.
 Also, the tournament will be played across three venues namely Sooriyawewa, Pallekele and Dambulla, with the semi-finals and final to be played in Pallekele. The Capital city, Colombo will not host any match as it’s Khettarama stadium is still undergoing renovation.(SOurce: Crictracker)
