India Women vs South Africa Women, 3rd ODI:

South Africa Women: 140 all out (48/50 overs, target 147)

India Women won the match by 6 runs.

India Women defeated South Africa Women by 6 runs in a low-scoring thriller. India scored 146 runs after losing all their wickets in 45.5 overs while batting first. South Africa Women got all out on a total of 140 runs in 48 overs, losing the match by just 6 runs. India Women won the ODI series by 3-0 as they defeated South Africa Women in the third ODI of their tour of India.

3rd ODI, India Women’s innings:

India Women won the toss and decided to bat first against South Africa Women in the last ODI of the series. India sent Priya Punia and Jemimah Rodrigues to bat first against the South African side. Priya Punia lost her wicket on a duck in the fourth ball of the first over of the match, where she got caught behind in Shabnim Ismail’s over. Priya Punia’s opening partner Jemimah Rodrigues got dismissed in the next over by Marizanne Kapp after scoring 3 runs off 3 balls.

The team was 2 down on just 5 runs. Punam Raut and India Women’s captain Mithali Raj tried to stabilize things for India Women by playing very carefully. Punam Raut scored 15 runs off 33 before she was bowled by Ayabonga Khaka in the 12th over of the match. The team was 23 for 3 wickets at this point in the game. India’s main objective was to survive for the 50 overs and put up a defendable total.

India women’s captain Mithali Raj lost her wicket after scoring 11 runs off 46 balls. Harmanpreet Kaur played a sensible innings for India, as she contributed 38 runs off 76 balls before being bowled by Marizanne Kapp. Mansi Joshi made 12 off 20 balls, while Shikha Pandey contributed 35 runs off 40 balls to push her team’s total to 146 runs after 50 overs.

Marizanne Kapp bowled brilliantly as she took 3 wickets for 20 runs in her 9 overs. Shabnim Ismail and Ayabonga Khaka claimed 2 wickets each for South Africa Women. Tumi Sekhukhune, Sune Luus, and Nondumiso Shangase snatched 1 wicket each against India.

3rd ODI, South Africa Women’s innings:

South Africa Women required 147 runs off 50 overs to win the match against India’s team. South Africa sent Lizelle Lee and Laura Wolvaardt to open the innings. Lizelle Lee scored 13 runs off 18 balls, while her partner Laura Wolvaardt scored 23 runs off 27 balls before she got LBW by Rajeshwari Gayakad. South Africa Women’s wicketkeeper Trisha Chetty contributed 7 runs while Mignon du Preez made 10.

South Africa women’s captain Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp put together a decent partnership of 40 runs to bring the team’s total to 103 runs. Sune Luus scored 24 runs off 54 balls, while Marizanne Kapp remained the top-scorer from South Africa Women after scoring 29 runs off 43 balls.

South Africa Women were 119/7 after Marizanne Kapp and Sune Luus both lost their wickets. Shabnim Ismail contributed 11 runs off 57 balls, while Nondumiso Shangase scored 10 runs off 31 balls.

India Women whitewash South Africa in ODI series 2

South Africa Women fell 7 runs short of their target of 147 runs after their team got all out on 140 runs. Ekta Bisht took charge with the ball for India after taking 3 wickets for 32 runs. Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad snatched 2 wickets each for India while Mansi Joshi, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Jemimah Rodrigues claimed 1 wicket against South Africa.

India’s Ekta Bisht was awarded “Player of the Match” for her outstanding performance with the ball. South Africa Women’s Marizanne Kapp was awarded “Player of the Series” for her brilliant performance with both, the bat and the ball throughout the series.
