Bangladesh decided to bat first after winning the toss. India dismissed both Bangladesh openers: Shadman Islam and Imrul Kayes, on just 12 runs into the game. Mohammad Mithun got lbw after adding 13 runs to the team’s total.

Captain Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim took a stand of 68 runs to bring their team’s total to 99 runs. Mominual Haque scored 37 from 80 balls before getting bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin. Liton Das got caught by Virat Kohli on Ishant Sharma’s delivery after scoring 21 runs from 31 deliveries.

Mushfiqur Rahim remained the top-scorer from his side after contributing 43 runs from 105 balls before being dismissed by Mohammad Shami. After Mushfiqur Rahim’s fall of wicket on 140/6, the rest of Bangladeshi batsmen also collapsed in the span of just 10 runs. Bangladesh finished on 150 runs in 58.3 overs with Mohammad Shami being the leading wicket-taker with 3 wickets for 27 runs. Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, and Ravichandran Ashwin also took 2 wickets each for their team against Bangladesh.
