West Indies star all-rounder and 2-times T20 World Cup winner, Dwayne Bravo, returns as part of the T20I squad for Ireland tour.
The all-rounder had announced his retirement in October 2018, but he officially made himself available for selection for T20Is only. Before his retirement, the 36-year-old played his last T20I against Pakistan in September 2016, where he scored 11 runs with the bat and conceded 31 wickets runs in his 4 overs.
Despite not being part of the international squad since 2016, he had been an integral figure in franchise cricket all around the world. Recently, he was part of Maratha Arabians who won the T10 League in Abu Dhabi
Dwayne Bravo was also a key part of the West Indies squad in both T20 World Cup Finals. West Indies defeated Sri Lanka in the ICC T20 World Cup 2012 and defeated England in the 2016 T20 World Cup.
Bravo said: “once selected I’ll be fully committed to represent the region again in T20 cricket, which I think is exciting for West Indies cricket and fans, with the young talents around.”

CWI’s lead selector Roger Harper said: “Dwayne Bravo was recalled with the specific intention of bolstering our ‘death’ bowling which was identified as an area that really needs improving. His record in this department speaks for itself. He will also be able to act as a mentor to the other ‘death’ bowlers and lend his experience wherever needed.
“Rovman Powell is a genuine all-rounder who we believe can add impetus and up the strike rate at the back-end of the innings. He was excellent in the Colonial Medical Insurance Super50 Cup – where he scored two excellent centuries and a 96 and also had some other good performances.”
Rovman Powell, who played 23 T20Is since his debut in March 2017, has also earned a recall for the upcoming Ireland series.
Fabian Allen and Keemo Paul are unavailable for Ireland T20Is due to injuries, and Jason Holder has been rested because of workload management.
Ireland will play 3 T20Is against West Indies on January 15, 19, and 20. Earlier, West Indies defeated Ireland by 3-0 in the 3-match ODI series.
